Sanja Lopandić is an English-Bosnian/Serbian/Croatian freelance translator and an interpreter. She has been in the translation industry since 1991. The first experience was with a beverage import company based in BiH in 1991. Despite the disrupted experience due to the war in Bosnia and Herzegovina, she continued her linguistic interest immediately after the war in January 1996, taking a completely different job of an interpreter and a translator for the United Nations peacekeeping mission in BiH, International Police Task Force in Bosnia and Herzegovina. In 2003, the experience expanded to a more administrative and linguistic role with an EU job for the European Union Police Mission - until 2010. Both the translation related jobs were in the areas on security, stability and law enforcement, the most comprehensive translation assignments in these demanding areas one can imagine.
Sanja Lopandić has been a freelancer working
mostly as a qualified legal translator ever since. Additionally, she has been largely
involved in medical translations, which is likely due to a large demand of pharmacy
industry and health care demands. Texts of the textile and chemical industries,
banking, economy, innovations etc. are on her desk most of the time.

Translation of answers to the EU questionnaires for the purpose of BiH accession
to EU. It was a unique opportunity to
use the knowledge she collected throughout the years of learning. A great project
challenge, as a large number of associates, 143 BiH translators, came together
to complete a demanding language project of the state administration.
Sanja Lopandić takes the challenge to perform best
when prompted to a fast and accurate translation relying on CAT tools whenever
needed. She finds working with the most advanced tools a true advantage of the
time of serious technical solutions.
